High-speed internet is essential to daily life. Health visits, job searches, banking, education, entertainment - they all rely on a reliable connection. Unfortunately, reliable, fast, affordable, and accessible internet is not available to all homes in Stephenson, Winnebago, Boone, and Ogle counties. We're working to change that.

R1 has completed a study that identified internet service gaps, proposed solutions to expand coverage for each of the counties within the Northern Stateline Region. Those plans can be viewed in the Links section.

WHAT'S NEXT

The next step is to get funding to implement the solutions outlined in the plans. Working with the applicable municipal leaders and internet service providers (ISPs), R1 will identify and apply for grants as they become available. R1 will also conduct community digital literacy sessions as the need arises.
